Conference – Practical Seminar for Teachers

On 28 -29 October Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) will host a conference - practical seminar for teachers “Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences: a Cooperation Partner in Education”. The conference is organised within the framework of the project “Establishment of Vidzeme Technological Centre for Further Education”. (Contract No. LV0043).

The goal of the conference is to inform employees of educational institutions of Vidzeme Region about possibilities offered by Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences and Vidzeme Lifelong Learning Centre, as well as to promote further cooperation among the educational institutions of the region and ViA in the future.
Ingūna Jurgelāne, Head of Vidzeme Lifelong Learning Centre and organiser of the conference says: “This is our first conference of this kind this year. The idea about the necessity for such a conference came up already in the previous summer when the teachers of Vidzeme Region expressed the wish for it as it is not always possible to invite experts with lectures on topical themes to every single school".
The conference will be opened by Vija Daukšte, ViA Rector, and Anžela Jurāne – Brēmane, Study Programmes Development Adviser, ViA Study, Research and International Relations Department. They will inform the conference participants about ViA study programmes. Lectures are planned for the first conference day; they will be delivered by Gundega Davidova (LU) “Learning Disorders: Problems or Opportunities?”, Mihails Siņicins (ViA) “Teacher – an Actor on the Stage of the Latvian National Economy Theatre” and others. The second day will be devoted to practical sessions or creative workshops. The teachers will have an opportunity to carry out “investigation in the library”, learn new ideas for organising class excursions, hear about ViA laboratory of Virtual and Augmented Reality Technology and participate in other creative workshops.
Although this will be the first conference of this kind, almost 200 hundred participants from 50 educational institutions have already applied.
