ViA student Deniss Golubevs won the first Vidzemes invention and innovation festival
Saturday, June 2, in Rīga Technical university (RTU) Cēsis affiliation festival «Minox» gathered together inventors and innovation authors from all of Vidzeme.
In the first ever Vidzeme invention and innovation festival gathered 35 participants with 15 inventions, representing different fields - industrial urban environment, construction, material design, information and communication technology, mechatronics, metal processing, agriculture, road construction, forestry and others.
The judges gave the win and first place to student of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences Deniss Golubevs project Centralized room control system, which grants the possibility to manage rooms, home appliances, lighting, temperature and gather information from sensors. In the core of the project is the idea and intention to create a united platform, that would be benificial to entrepreneurs and everyday users. Second place and audience prize went to Alexander Lubinskis who developed a collapsible wooden scooter, which in the future he hopes to power with electricity. Third place went to Valmiera Vocational school project Walking stick with sensors for people with visual impairment, which was presented by George Krops.
At the festival children and adults had the chance to participate in different workshops and exciting activities. In the game room of Cesis design and technology school there was an opportunity to try out student created musical instruments, play creative games that were created from wood, as well as participate in electricity workshop. RTU Cesis affiliation 3D workshop helped to master 3D drawing, while you could practice your knot tying skill with TreeHousePlace idea authors, who created and implemented an idea about wooden platforms on trees.
First ever Vidzeme invention and innovation festival was organized by Riga Technical university Cesis affiliation with the support of Cesis municipality.
