ViA student Deniss Golubevs won the first Vidzemes invention and innovation festival

Saturday, June 2, in Rīga Technical university (RTU) Cēsis affiliation festival «Minox» gathered together inventors and innovation authors from all of Vidzeme.

In the first ever Vidzeme invention and innovation festival gathered 35 participants with 15 inventions, representing different fields - industrial urban environment, construction, material design, information and communication technology, mechatronics, metal processing, agriculture, road construction, forestry and others.

Idea about D vitamin measurement with optical sensor gains support in "Deep Science Hackathon 2018"

We are proud to congratulate Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences Socio-technical Systems Engineering Institute's director Ojārs Balcers with the great achievement and victory within the first LU Institute of Solid State Physics hackathon with an idea about vitamin D measuring with optical sensor!

In competition of eight ideas, this idea within LU Institute of Solid State Physics hackathon “Deep Science Hackathon 2018” jury chose as best of all business projects. Hackathon was the first "Materize" activity, which is the new institute platform for science service export and cooperation with the industry in the high-tech field.

ViA student succeeds at an international math Olympiad

Inter-School Mathematics Olympiad (ISMO) took place on April 17, 2018 in Jelgava Palace. In this event best math students from largest Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian universities competed. 1st place in the individual competition was shared between Undīne Kobitjeva from Vidzeme Univerity of Applied sciences (ViA) and Ingus Jānis Pretkalniņš from the University of Latvia.

Vidzeme University Knowledge and Technology Centre (ZTC) invites students to participate in Business Pizza Brunch - March 7th, 2018, from 13:15 till 14:45 Vidzeme Universty Terbata street 10, 121. auditorium. In nonformal setting students and other young people will be introduced with Business Trial laboratory, that implements preincubation activities with support of mentors and other specialists helps potential livelihood of a business idea.

ClimateLaunchpad 2017 is now open for applications

The competition is now open for applications. ClimateLaunchpad welcomes innovations in renewable energy, energy efficiency, food and agriculture, water, transportation, industrial technology or any other way to tackle climate change. The judging criteria are impact on climate change, business potential and skills within the team.

What is ClimateLaunchpad (CLP)?
CLP is the world’s largest green business idea competition that creates a stage for the people who have great cleantech ideas and help them develop those ideas into startups making global impact.
